My personal Peirce family tree (Michael Richard Peirce) can be traced back to England at the time William Penn came over to settle Pennsylvania. I'm told a Peirce came over with him and there is a "Peirce cottage" on the grounds of the William Penn Estate. Someday I need to get to Philadelphia to take a look for myself.

Sometime after the American Revolution, a Peirce moved to Ohio. Eventually settling in Springfield, Ohio. My great-grandfather, Raymond Peirce was born there and eventually moved to Toledo. My grandfather Richard Howell Peirce, my father Thomas Seeley Peirce, and I were all born in Toledo. My son Peter James Peirce was born in San Jose, California. We now reside in Lewis Center, Ohio near Columbus.
